The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Busy Bees follows the Early Years Foundation Stage: each child will have their own learning journey book, which will include photos, comments and their own art work!

The E.Y.F.S. is based on four themes
-A unique child
-Positive relationships
-Enabling environments
-Learning and Development

I will provide activities that support the 7 areas of learning and development in accordance with the EYFS :

-Personal, social and emotional development
-Communication and language
-Physical development

Understanding the World
Expressive Arts and Design

As well as taking into count the Characteristics of Effective Learning:
- Playing and Learning (engagement)
- Active Learning (motivation )
- Creating and thinking critically ( thinking )

I plan activities based on what the children in my care are interested in at the time. It could be trucks, animals, or a child’s favourite colour!

At Busy Bees Child Care, your child will be exploring all these areas. He or she will have their own individual learning plan and an assessment for the E.Y.F.S. will be carried out. Your son or daughter's learning journey book is colour coded with spots to show the different areas covered and chart progress.

The activities will give your child the experience and confidence to explore the world around them in a fun and safe environment!

All children have their own folder to record their progress, including a section for parents' comments and room for observation and photos.
